Third last week, Omanyala aims for victory in Johannesburg tonight

Africa's fastest man in the 100M Ferdinand Omanyala will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing third-place finish last week in Johannesburg South Africa on Wednesday night.
Omanyala will compete in the 100M at the Athletics South Africa ASA meet which will be held at the University of Johannesburg Athletics Facility.
The Kenyan champion finished third in the first ASA meet held in Tshwane last week, clocking 10.22 seconds.
He finished behind 18 year old South African sensation Karabo Letebele who crossed the line in a photo finish time of 10.18, same as Emile Erasmus the veteran sprinter who took second.
Omanyala by virtue of his personal best time of 9.77 seconds, has already qualified for the Tokyo games and his focus will be fully on building momentum, with the season just about a month old.
Tonight will see him take part in his third race of the season, having also participated in an Athletics Kenya meet in Thika in February.
"The weather has turned cold to offer good conditions for sprinting, Marcel Viljoen who is Omanyala's manager told Nation Africa. " Omanyala is looking forward to the race, he added.
Fellow Kenyan Mark Otieno Odhiambo will also participate tonight in the 100M.
He finished fourth with a time of 10.30 last week and is slowly continuing with his comeback from a two year doping ban.
He will be looking to set a strong times ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo Japan September this year.
